• Chrissy Cheung and Verona Sorensen are both Montreal-based artists.
  
  Chrissy Cheung's compositions are created by reacting to impulses, improvising on the moment and using spontaneous gestures. The images are often complex and jig-sawed into each other. She enjoys this visual complication and purposely articulates these details; while, colour is an integral part of her painting for its ability to transmit a sense of emotion and high-activity.
  
  In the works by Verona Sorensen, textural surfaces have a presence that reveal their complexity over time. Just as old doors and weathered walls tell their life experiences and the imprint of time, her paintings lend a glimpse of the depths and layers that create us as we are today.
